PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – 2008
The Sourdough River Festival is a fun event that takes
place every summer on the North Saskatchewan River in
Edmonton, Alberta.
This year the event will take place on Sunday, July 13,
2008 and will mark the 49th year on the river.
The afternoon on the river is based on ingenuity and
humor. Rafts travel from scenic Terwillegar Park in the
city’s west end to Rafter’s Landing in the heart of Downtown
Edmonton.
Our $1000 Admiral’s Choice Award sponsored by Crystal
Glass is enticing even more wacky watercraft to compete
in Edmonton’s biggest water fight.
We at the Sourdough Raft Race Association would like
to thank everyone, participants, volunteers, sponsors
and spectators, for the tremendous support we’ve seen
from all of you.
In the spirit of fun and celebration, we will be creating
additional categories for this year’s event. Canoes, boats
and motorized craft will be added to this year’s show.
We invite you to join us this summer for the Sourdough
River Festival! Get involved by entering a raft, a canoe,
a boat or anything else that floats! Ride down the river
for the fun of it and experience a trip under the Great
Divide Waterfall or just come to cheer the participants
on.
Don't forget...GET WET!!!
